Cosmetics Conundrum

Hey, fashionistas.

I am NOT a make-up girl! I confess, I could care less about finding the perfect shade of lip-gloss, the right hair product, and the smoothest skin care products. For all of my passion for fashion, I've used the same cleanser (Cetaphyl) and moisturizer (Clinique) since I was 16 and unless I'm on camera (in which case the ever so talented Hilda and Karen transform me), I rarely wear make-up and am a pony tail girl at heart. I do get a facial once a month and stay out of the sun because I believe healthy skin is your best accessory. But as far as the right shades and products, I leave that to Amber and our beauty experts. So with all of that said, you'll understand that my passion for cosmetic bags is a bit surprising. The truth is I love them. Here's why.

There's nothing worse than carrying a big bag when you go out at night. It doesn't look pretty, and is frankly unnecessary. Whether you're attending a wedding, cocktail party, or just drinks or dinner, a small purse or clutch with only your card, some cash, a gloss, and phone is necessary. But even small bags can be pricey. That's where the cosmetic bag comes in!

Almost always they are reasonably priced and the perfect size to fit what you'll need for a night out. And more often than not, you can find one that's just as stylish as a designer bag. And there's my big tip, fashionistas! If you're looking for a designer "bag" seek out a cosmetic bag instead of a clutch. Designers are often inspired by the same fabrics and textures and you'll get a VERY similar look for less! Check out some examples below. And click here to find our favorite raffia cosmetic bag that looks similar to this Rafe clutch but is a fraction of the price. And for our beauty blog, click here. A cosmetic bag can in fact be used for make-up too!

Happy shopping!
