iMag’s Reality Series: The Job Journal
Thousands of people are losing their jobs every day. They often don't see it coming and don't know the first thing about standing out in one of the toughest job markets in years. So, we're making it simple.
This month we bring you a brand new reality series that documents one woman's search for a new job. Click below to meet Rachel, a 25-year-old from New York, who is opening up her life and her job search to you. We've paired her with Nicole Williams, best-selling author and founder of WORKS, a company dedicated to helping women excel in their careers. (As far as career coaches go, you can't get any better than Nicole.) Each week Rachel will let you in on her search through video diaries and Nicole will write back with advice on what she did right, where she went wrong and what to do next to land the job.
And the best part — what works for Rachel could work for you too. Check in weekly for expert advice to help YOU land your next job. Post comments and share your stories with other iMag fans.

This is a great idea for young people… but what about us older (60) folks? There are many differences in losing your job early in life vs. later in life. I would like to see some series about the “over 50 set” also.
Good idea for the right time…

Hi Susan–Thanks for your feedback. You bring up a great point, there are many differences between losing your job early in life vs. older in life. We are planning on doing a future Job Journal with an older participant and addressing those differences.
In the meantime you can check out the career section of iMag. In our last career edition http://www.foxnews.com/fncimag/career/laidoffnowwhat/index.html we spoke to three different people who had lost their jobs. The last two stories are from two viewers in their 50s and we posted advice from a psychologist and career expert to help them with their job search. The articles are posted under the “Handed a Pink Slip? iMag to the Rescue!” header.
Hope this helps.
